Nutella and other banned baby names from around the world
In France a judge has ruled that a couple cannot call their baby daughter Nutella because of the fact that it’s a trade name. This is not the only case recorded though: many a couple around the world have been prevented from naming their offspring something very unusual or downright offensive.
Let’s look at some more examples:
New Zealand must hold a sort of record for wackiest names around. A child was set to be called Anal, only for the Department of Internal Affairs to veto the proposal. Another one was meant to be called ‘.‘ or full stop.
In 2013 the department of births, deaths and marriages released a list of banned names which includes Lucifer, Majesty, Queen Victoria and Mafia No Fear.
Also, recently the parents of a nine year old were ordered to rename their child who was called ‘Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii‘
